Interactive 360° Panorama

This imposing Rolls was built by the renowned coach builders, Rippon brothers of Huddersfield to the exacting specification of Mr H Barber of Halifax and stayed in West Yorkshire until at least 1969 when the records cease. It was known to be in the USA in 1982 but little else since then.

Curiously the chassis records show as the completion date or off test as it is referred to as 24th September1935 though the V5C states December 1937. The buff logbook from 1949 also states the date of registration as 1937 so there is no obvious explanation for this other than it must have sat at Ripon Brothers for over two years before Mr Barker took delivery.

Lovely features include; louvered bonnet, chrome highlighted swage line with shaped door handles, twin sunroofs, quarter lights to the front and rear windows, delightful road map to front compartment and the ivory window winder handles. The car performs very well on the road, does not wander and has strong brakes. Rippon were well known for strong bodies and GOH 51 does not disappoint in this area. There is no sagging from the door hinges and the doors close with a lovely clunk. The interior is a great place to sit with sumptuous seats, good woodwork and a very well appointed dashboard.

If you have not driven a 20/25 then you should. Lovely cars to own and drive and mechanically quite straightforward to maintain. Once they are running right, they really are a pleasure and an escape from modern day life.
